Melissa leads PENCIL’s programmatic work in the area of College and Career Readiness. In this role, she is responsible for building organizational expertise in this important area; using this knowledge to shape best practices, measurement tools, and program models; and for guiding the work of a team of Partnership Coordinators, who oversee school-business partnerships.
Melissa has a background in program development and policy analysis focusing on youth services. Prior to joining PENCIL, she worked at the International Organization for Adolescents (IOFA) on their girls’ leadership and youth trafficking prevention initiatives. A native Brooklynite, Melissa holds an MPA from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania.
