As the Partnership Coordinator for the Lower East Side, East Harlem and the South Bronx, Emily helps to develop and sustain affiliations between public schools and leaders within the private sector in an effort to increase student achievement and overall school success.
Prior to joining PENCIL, Emily was a high school teacher in the Bronx for four years, and taught various math, science and arts courses with a focus on students with learning disabilities. Most recently, Emily worked for The Center for Teaching Excellence at Cornell University, where she coordinated and led teaching excellence and teaching with technology programs for professors and teaching assistants.
Emily holds a M.S. in Urban Education from Mercy College and a B.A. in Art History from the University of Hartford.
