Fellows Program

"My PENCIL Fellows experience was extraordinary. At Estée Lauder, I learned about competitive research, product development, and even worked on classified projects! And I learned that you can be successful, as long as you put your best foot forward and try your hardest.”
-Tysha Vulcain-Murrell, 2013 PENCIL Fellow

Academic skills alone won’t fully prepare today’s students for future success.

PENCIL Fellows prepares high school juniors and seniors for college and careers by introducing them to essential habits like planning and goal-setting; skills like résumé-writing and interviewing; and hands-on internship opportunities at leading New York City businesses.

Join the hundreds of New Yorkers who are helping our students unleash their potential, and make a difference that will last a lifetime.

A Mutually Beneficial Relationship

A six-week paid internship allows Fellows to develop critical workplace skills, build a professional network and provide businesses with support on projects such as:

  • Maintaining social media
PENCIL stays in close contact with Fellows and their host companies to provide support and training prior to and throughout the internship period. To learn more about the program, visit the Resources links below. Contact PENCIL Fellows at pencilfellows@pencil.org for more information.
